#055 – Testwood Lakes 2 SOLD

Another work I created on commission as the customer saw and requested a painting similar to one in my first art exhibition as part of the Hampshire Open Studios 2017 event held at King’s Church Southampton. The original was painted in situ at Testwood Lakes Totton and then completed via photographs taken on the day. The darker tomes suggest a stormy day. In this copy commision I went for a weeping birch on the right, deeper blue tones in the water, more varied grasses in the foreground and I believe demonstrated more expert blending technique in the sky and clouds. This canvas was my first use of a Honsell Naturelle pure linen finer weave 350g/m² and is slightly larger than the original.
